Item Description
A classic and shapely magnesite thumbnail from a historic Austrian locality. This is a sharp, tabular, pseudo-hexagonal, "screwhead" twinned magnesite crystal with matte-finish, convex, large side faces and lustrous, concave, edge faces. An excellent thumb from an old-time locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9963 and acquired from Dick Bideaux at the Tucson Show in 1983. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record) and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
