Item Description

Pastel-green magnesite (colored by nickel impurities) with an unusual knobby/bubbly/drusy form covers a thin layer of white magnesite on this large, attractive thin plate. The specimen is from the Cedar Hill Quarry of Pennsylvania [see, however, http://www.mindat.org/mesg-7-150141.html], a gravel quarry mining the State-line belt of serpentines and is near the famous Woods Chrome Mine. Such green magnesite specimens are rare and desirable from this locale. Yellow-green fluorescence. Valued at $200-300.
