Item Description

An attractive miniature sized specimen of Magnesite from Brumado. This locality is a giant mountain that is filled with superb quality specimens Magnesite, which are commercially mine and used in EAF steelmaking, as the slag is designed to remove sulfur and phosphorus. This locality has produced some of the finest crystallized Magnesite specimens in the world, and they do not get the credit they deserve for their superior quality. This specimen features sharp, gemmy colorless rhombs of Magnesite free of matrix. Overall in good shape, on the display side, but the back of the piece is contacted on the back. A good specimen of this well known and underappreciated material from Brazil.
