Item Description

Bright, mint-green, acicular crystals of the ultra-rare, hydrated sulfate, magnesioaubertite richly cover the crest and both sides of the snow-white, pickeringite matrix. Pickeringite is an uncommon hydrated sulfate and also forms in acicular crystals. This is an exceptionally rich and important specimen from the Type Locality for magnesioaubertite, as it is part of the Type Locality material and is from the collection of Georg Gebhard, co-author of the paper describing this rare species (1988). Rare and fine combination material.
