Item Description

Mackayite is a very rare Fe-tellurite found in the oxidation zone of Au-Te deposits. Sparkly crusts of two-toned brown, microcrystalline mackayite richly covers the matrix on this rare and most excellent specimen from an obscure Mexican Au-Te locale, where specimens of any species are very uncommon. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and obtained in 1965 from Allen's Minerals. Bob's label reads "one-of-a-kind" on the backside, indicating his estimate of it's quality for the species. A must for the species and locality collector.
