Item Description

Luzonite is a fairly rare copper arsenic sulfosalt, and it has only been reported from two mines in Taiwan. This small cabinet / large miniature hosts sharp, lustrous, semi-brass colored, modified tetragonal clusters of metallic Luzonite which are associated with thin prismatic crystals of Enargite measuring up to 7 mm. Luzonite is highly sought after from this now defunct Gold-producing quarry in Taiwan. Very rare on the market, and this one is certainly a good example of the species. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8523) with an old label from Walt Lidstrom. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
