Item Description

Luzonite is a rare copper, arsenic sulfosalt. Nubby spherical aggregates of small luzonite crystals with reddish silvery-metallic luster form this entire piece, topping over enargites that they have probably completely, or at least mostly, replaced as a pseudomorph. The small sharp crystals are equant, with a pseudo-octahedral habit. Rare in this size and quality from any locality. The backside of the crust is partially covered with bright brassy pyrite crystals. A fine old classic from a now defunct locale. Ex Eugene Carmichael. Valued at $200-300.
