Item Description
Luinaite-(OH) is a very rare Tourmaline species, only found in about nine places in the world. The only reported locality for this species in North America is the Bald Hornet Claim (Blue Mountain Saddle) in King County, Washington. This piece is an excellent thumbnail featuring a semi-radial "spray" of deep silvery-green colored Luinaite-(OH) crystals which play host to a beautiful single transparent colorless Quartz crystals. Great aesthetics and with the naked eye, the piece is damage free, save the bottom where it detached from the pocket wall. A really cool and eye-catching specimen of this exceptionally rare material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10676). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
