Item Description
“Apple green” freeform step cut custom gem ludlamite faceted by Spectrum Award winning cutter Mark Kaufman from a vintage piece of rough (vintage T. M. Phetteplace label included - presumably from the 1960s or 1970s heyday here). Possibly the largest known clean gem of this rare American material. Comes with letter of provenance from Mark Kaufman. This is a significant and important stone worthy of any USA-focused or rare gem collections. Comparables simply do not exist, though $1000 per carat seems reasonable to value such a rarity in general, and from what collector stones are usually priced at in shows. 1.44 carats.
