Ludjibaite (exceptionally rare)

Item Description

Ludjibaite is an exceptionally rare hydroxy copper phosphate species, only found in just over a dozen world localities. Some of the most well-known examples are those from the type locality, the Ludjiba Mountains, in the Shinkolobwe area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This piece is a fairly rich example from this locality, featuring attractive rich green colored micro crystals of Ludjibaite on matrix. The piece is best viewed under magnification, and we've photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Additionally, this piece comes with a couple of printed photos of the Ludjibaite crystals, showing their superb quality and visceral beauty. These specimens are incredibly hard to find on the market, so iIf you collect rarities, don't miss out on this wonderful example, as we likely won't have another one to offer anytime soon.
