Item Description
One of the rare species that came out of Russia in the 1980s and 1990s, and then stopped flowing, this is a pristine, 3.5 cm, doubly terminated, lustrous brown, textbook orthorhombic lorenzenite crystal proudly rests atop the blocky matrix shot through with numerous lustrous jet-black aegirine needles to 2.5 cm. Super accessories are more lorenzenite crystals and crystal section on one side. Lorenzenite is a rare Na-Ti-silicate found in exotic alkaline igneous terrains. An outstanding small cabinet matrix example of the species and locale from the Bill and Anne Cook collection. An exceptional and large matrix example. Valued $2000.
