Lord Kelvin, Sir William Thomson, lived from 1824-1907. He is widely known for determining the correct value of absolute zero as approximately -273.15 Celsius and for many achievements in thermodynamics and engineering. He was ennobled in 1892 and was a very famous and successful scientist in his life. This high-grade photograph with numerous royal warrants and prizes and awards shown on the back was taken in or after 1897. from an old mineral collection we purchased
