Item Description
A single penetration twin of lustrous, black Loparite-(Ce) from N'orkpakhk Mt., Russia. It is rare to find these twins in crystals as large as 1 cm, and it displays well in all directions. The crystal has very good luster for this species, and the little bit of wear detracts little from the quality and the appeal. A member of the Perovskite group, Loparite contains titanium and niobium, and a host of other rare earth elements bonded in a simple oxide. Old material, now seldom seen
