Item Description
A gemmy and lustrous, 1.5 cm, yellowish-green, londonite crystal on matrix from Madagascar. Londonite is the ultra-rare, cesium-dominant analogue of rhodizite. This is a relatively large, very sharp, unusually gemmy crystal. The termination is pristine on both sides. Crystals like this came out in the late 90s and this is one that I got from Dr Dave London at the time, right after they were published. I found it in flats still stored from my move to Texas over a decade ago! The crystal has bruising on one side, and on the lower part of the back but displays well from the front, and is prominently exposed. There is another, smaller, sharp londonite crystal on the other end of the matrix ; and the numerous red tourmaline crystals in the matrix are a fine accent. From the early-1990s finds here. Valued $300-400.
