Item Description
Londonite is the very rare, cesium-dominant analogue of Rhodizite. Gemmy and lustrous, this sharp, 1.1 cm crystal has well-feined form and edges, and is a pleasing, straw-yellow color. It is aesthetically set on matrix from a quartz-rich pegmatite vein. Often you will see many of these specimens listed as 'Londonite-Rhodozite Series' because these are so similar and share a solid solution series. However, Londonite does have a faint yellow fluorescence as this fine crystal also appears to have, so Londonite gets the nod. Previously in the Phil Scalisi collection. From the collection of East Coast collector, George Elling, specializing in historic minerals of the East Coast and minerals from the development of old European mineralogy.
