Löllingite with Calcite

Attractive and sculptural two-sided "fan" of diverging sprays of flattened lollingite prisms from recent finds at the now famous remote Huanggang mines. The sheaves are bright silver metallic to dark gray depending on the light incidence. The two clusters of small flattened, translucent calcite crystal disks on one end is a fine contrast, complement and typical accessory. The showy and excellent specimen is solid lollingite. The front is pristine and the modest bit of bruising on the back is out-of-sight. Rich orange LW UV calcite fluorescence. Hefty ore at 489 grams or 1.1 pounds mass for the size. Valued at $1000 by the former dealer. Classic and excellent lollingite from the noted locale. Lollingite specimens from these mines are being hailed as best of species ever found.
