Item Description

Livingstonite is a very rare, mercury, antimony sulfosalt and this rich and showy specimen hails from the Type Locality - Huitzuco, Guerrero, Mexico. A striking cockscomb of bright, steel-metallic livingstonite lathes to a large 2.4 cm jauntily rests atop matrix of rich antimony (stibnite) ore. OLDER material VERY SELDOM on the market. Ex Mullane Collection. Valued at least $750. We have not seen any of this material for sale, in over 5-6 years. It is a very rare specimen, with superb large crystals for the material. We obtained a small sample in the Mullane collection that I broke into thirds to expose the good crystals inside and count myself lucky to have them at all - almost never seen on the market today!
