Item Description

Here we have an exceptionally rare specimen of Lindqvistite, a lead manganese iron oxide, only found at THREE localities on Earth. It was first discovered at the Jakobsberg Mine in Sweden and named after the former curator at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, Bengt Lindqvist in 1991. We've never had a single crumb of this material to offer in the auctions, and if you're a rarities collector, or you collect minerals from the type locality, do not miss out on this one. The piece features micro dark silvery-grey metallic granular Lindqvistite along with black Plumboferrite, along with minor Calcite, green Malachite and Phlogopite. I believe there is minor Jacobsite on the piece as well. Obviously the piece is best seen under magnification, like most pieces from this locality. For reference, the Jakobsberg Mine is also the type locality for Plumboferrite. A really cool association specimen, from a well-known Swedish locality, that is seldom seen in today's market.
From the collection of Colin Manlove.
