Item Description

An important large New Mexico specimen: Startling, scintillating, "electric-blue" linarite microcrystals richly and dramatically cover two sides of the sculptural large matrix plate from the famed Blanchard Mine. Linarite is a well-known Pb-Cu-sulfate and the mine has produced some of the finest examples of the species known. It is a signature species, along with fluorite from the mine. The quartz-rich matrix also hosts fluorite, baryte and corroded galena crystals. A large and choice example of the species and locale. Few specimens of this SIZE AND RICHNESS together, are found...were, we should say. This is 20 years or more out of the ground, long in a friend's collection in Germany.
