Item Description
Linarite is a well known lead copper sulfate, and the Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine in Tiger, Arizona is one of the classic localities for the species. Typically Linarite is found as small to microscopic azure blue crystals, either tabular or elongated, in clusters or as crusts. This piece features beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue, crystals of Linarite measuring up to a few mm with associated Cerussite on matrix. A great little toenail / large thumbnail piece with many excellent eye-catching crystals. The electric color and brilliant luster is what really stands out here. This is one of the most highly sought after minerals from Arizona, as Tiger specimens are incredibly desirable, beautiful and nearly impossible to find on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9266). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
