Item Description
A beautiful small cabinet sized piece from Darwin featuring stark blue colored, highly lustrous crystals of Linarite which are associated with minor greenish-blue colored Caledonite on host rock matrix. Fun to view under magnification, and good pieces of Linarite from Darwin are incredibly hard to find on the market these days. There are crystals on both sides of the specimen.
From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
