Item Description

Linarite is a well known lead copper sulfate, and the Bingham area is one of the classic localities for the species. Typically Linarite is found as small to microscopic azure blue crystals, either tabular or elongated, in clusters or as crusts. This piece features beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue, crystals of Linarite with minor Cerussite coating underlying Galena forming a striking and colorful specimen from this well-known locality. Barite and greenish Rosasite can be seen on the piece as well. It's such a well-defined specimen, with the Linarite / Galena section raised aesthetically above the matrix. From the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite), and resided for a few years in the collection of Brian Kosnar.
