Item Description
Yes, you read it correctly, a confirmed piece of Linarite from the Sunnyside mine. The piece comes from Robert Stouffer, and I was needless to say very excited when I saw it. Originally, the royal / electric blue areas were thought to be Azurite, but they analysis came back to our delight as Linarite! The light blue mineral is yet to be identified, but we will update any future listings when we know its identity. Additionally, the piece features Quartz, Galena, Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite and the RARE copper zinc sulfate, Minohlite (very minor green). Even though the Sunnyside was known for its gold production, the copper bearing areas of the mine which produced this piece, have given us the first confirmed piece of Linarite from this historic locality. It is not the first report of Linarite in San Juan County, but in my mind the most exciting. Don't miss out as very few pieces are available, and I have to believe it was from a single find.
