Linarite coating Anglesite on Galena

Item Description

Linarite is a well known lead copper sulfate, and the Binham area is one of the classic localities for the species. Typically Linarite is found as small to microscopic azure blue crystals, either tabular or elongated, in clusters or as crusts. This piece features beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue, crystals of Linarite coating an underlying cube of Galena which is coated by Anglesite on matrix forming a striking and colorful specimen from this well-known locality. It appears that there is a bit of light green acicular Brochantite on the back of the piece. Great aesthetics, quality and the fact that it's bigger than a thumbnail makes it all the more desirable to me.
