Item Description

Linarite is a sought after well known lead copper sulfate, and the pieces from Bingham are some of the best examples of the species from the Western Hemisphere. This small miniature specimen hosts a "spray" of beautiful, lustrous, intense royal-blue crystals of Linarite associated with Malachite on matrix. You can see nice definition between the thin "needle"-like crystals and the complimenting Malachite makes for a great touch. The combination of strong colors and rare species is always popular in the mineral collecting world, and Linarite certainly meets both criteria. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5194). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
