Item Description

A beautiful small cabinet specimen featuring the rare lead copper sulfate, Linarite in the form of rich electric blue, flattened, prismatic crystals sitting on matrix. While the Caledonite crystals are the most well-known mineral from this locality, the Linarites are certainly near the top in terms of desirability. A tiny bit of a green colored mineral (likely Brochantite or Caledonite) is present on the piece as well. Priced at $950 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0490) who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
