Item Description
Specimens from the famous Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine in Tiger are some of the most highly sought after specimens for Arizona collectors. The exotic and beautiful minerals associations along with alluring colors from this area are iconic, and truly stand out from other Arizona minerals. This small cabinet specimen hosts many lustrous, electric blue bladed crystals of the rare lead copper sulfate Linarite measuring up to 4 mm associated with minor Cerussite on matrix. The Linarites crystals are best viewed under magnification, and we have photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Now the piece is not pristine, there is a decent amount of roughness, but Tiger specimens are so rarely available on the market, even a piece like this is desirable for collectors, especially because it's so RICH with Linarite! There are very few places in the United States where you find good crystals of Linarite (that aren't micros) and Tiger is certainly among them. Priced at $1200 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds with an additional label from the collection of Scott Williams. Bob sadly passed in August of 2020. He was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
