Item Description

A wonderful old time specimen of Stilpnosiderite (a botryoidal variety of Limonite) from Graul in Saxony. The color is a chocolate brown hue and you can clearly see a few individual "balls" on the specimen, so it's not just massive chunk. The piece comes with an old label from the Pearse Collection of Harvard University. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3274). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
