Limonite pseudomorph after Pyrite (ex Dr. Wouter van Tichelen Collection)

Item Description

A large thumbnail sized specimen featuring a wonderful pyritohedral crystal group of what started out as Pyrite that has been pseudomorphed by reddish-brown Limonite with associated bladed Hematite from the famous locality at Rio Marina. The piece is complete nearly all the way around, with only one point of attachment on the underside. These pseudomorphs are rare, and this particular piece is fine quality and beautiful to view from several angles. I love how the piece has a gorgeous antique like patina, giving it that "old time" feel. A great example of this classic old material from the famous Isle of Elba.
