Item Description

A rarely seen pseudomorph from the Mogok Valley featuring a group of cubic crystals that started out as Pyrite, but were later pseudomorphed into Limonite. The crystals are still notably sharp and well-formed, and not distorted/rounded, as they sometimes can be from other world localities. The largest cube measures 1.1 cm on edge. The piece has a dark antique bronze hue on the surface and a gentle metallic luster. It's a complete "floater" specimen, with no damage or point of attachment that I can find. Very attractive in person, and certainly rare on the market. From the collection of Bill ("Burma Bill") Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
