Item Description
Classic, old-time and rare pseudomorph material from the famous mines at Berezovsk, Russia. Lustrous, sharp, chocolate-brown, pyrite pyritohedron clusters to 2.0 cm are aesthetically scattered in the granular quartz matrix. A striking fragment of a very large and lustrous, fibrous schorl crystal is a super compliment. Ex Hans Karabacek and Harvard Collections. Karabacek was a noted Austrian collector who lived from 1878 to 1963 and was known for collecting only the best of specimens. Rare and excellent pseudomorph combination material with a great provenance, that probably dates to Imperial Russia. The Karabacek collection mostly ended up in Harvard and pieces today are seldom seen for sale. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
