Item Description

Fantastic, VERY RARE, large 360-degree, Texas pseudomorph stalactite of lustrous rust-brown to black limonite replacing densely intergrown pyrite cubes. The pseudos reach 1.7 cm on this dramatic and sculptural pillar. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial bruising. Old-time, RARE material, as the Minerals Unlimited label probably dates from the 1950s to 60s. MINDAT does NOT list pyrite or limonite from Lubbock County or any of the adjacent 8 counties, that surround Lubbock County. Hale County lists limonite from two meteorite occurrences.
