Limonite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

This piece came labeled as coming from "Berlin, Germany", but there is no listing of anything of this kind coming from that city / state. It could be from the Fusseberg Mine or possibly Herdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate. With that said, the piece features botryoidal, jet-black colored groups of Limonite free of matrix. This is unusual material, and not terribly common the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3382). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
