Libethenite (superb quality)

This is an excellent quality and notably hard to find specimen of the rare copper hydroxy phosphate Libethenite from one of the best known localities for the species the NKana Mine (Open Pit) in Zambia (formerly the Rokana Mine), a lesser known copper and cobalt mine. These pieces were mined many years ago, and are quite difficult to find now, especially in such fine examples as this one. This small cabinet sized piece features an excellent, lustrous, deep emerald green crystal group of Libethenite measuring 1.8 cm in a vug in matrix. Great quality and hard to find on the market in this size! It's quite rare to find such an excellent ISOLATED Libethenite group on matrix like this from the NKana Mine. Valued at $2,000 retail.
