Item Description
VERY RARE large size and shape on this outstanding thumbnail libethenite crystal from the 1975 find at this large underground and open pit Cu-Co mine. The sculptural doubly terminated, lustrous, mostly black with green highlights crystal has a striking saddle shape enhanced with stepped-growth faces. Crystals over 1.5 cm are exceedingly rare. The 1975 find produced the world's finest examples of this uncommon Cu-phosphate, with several different crystal habits found. See the 1978 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 9, No. 6.
