Item Description
A classic specimen of the rare copper phosphate Libethenite from the Tyrone Mine. These are some of the finest botryoidal aggregates of Libethenite from this locality that I've seen. Typically, one only sees micro "crusts" of crystals from this mine, but to have large robust "balls" like this is rare. A superb example of this very hard to find material. Valued at $750. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9988). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
