Item Description

Libethenite, secondary Cu-phosphate, is known from this New Mexico large former underground and now open pit porphyry copper mine. This uncommon small cabinet hosts three generations of libethenite on the blocky porphyry matrix. The front is richly covered with tiny first generation gemmy grass-green crystals. Striking scintillating patches of slightly larger emerald-green second generation crystals are a super complement. A vug on the left side hosts both sparkly very dark green third generation crystals and beautiful tiny gem isolated emerald-green crystals. The sawed base enhances the display quality. Ex Gary Weaver Collection. A choice and uncommon three generation libethenite from the famous Tyrone Mine.
