Libethenite (fine quality)

Item Description

A fine quality and hard to find specimen of the rare copper hydroxy phosphate Libethenite, from the NKana Mine (Open Pit) in Zambia (formerly labeled as the Rokana Mine). Regardless, it's quite difficult to obtain any specimens from this lesser known copper and cobalt mine these days. This toenail sized piece features an excellent, lustrous, deep emerald green crystal group of Libethenite measuring 6 mm in a vug in matrix. Great quality and hard to find on the market! It's quite rare to find such an excellent ISOLATED Libethenite group on matrix like this from the NKana Mine. This specimen was personally collected in 1976 by Dr. Ken Reid. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html).
