Libethenite (ex Richard Rossi Collection)

A hard to find specimen of the rare copper hydroxy phosphate from the Nkana Mine open pit (Rokana Mine) in Zambia. With that said, mineral specimens of any variety are rare from this lesser known copper and cobalt mine. This attractive small cabinet sized features dozens of sharp, lustrous, deep emerald green, sparkling Libethenite crystal groups measuring up to 3 mm on either side of the underlying matrix. Great quality and hard to find on the market! There was a short time period in the 1970s when this locality produced what are easily the world's finest examples of Libethenite ever found.
