Item Description

A hard to find specimen of the rare copper hydroxy phosphate from the NKana Mine (Open Pit) in Zambia. Please note that the accompanying label mentions that the piece is from "Area 3". With that said, mineral specimens of any variety are rare from this lesser known copper and cobalt mine. This attractive small cabinet sized features a few groups of deep emerald green, sparkling Libethenite crystal groups measuring up to 5 mm in a Quartz vug in matrix. Great quality and hard to find on the market! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9703). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
