Item Description

Sparkly spherical aggregates of tiny gemmy light green and emerald-green libethenite crystals comprise this very rich, lightweight, vuggy sculptural solid mass of libethenite. Almost certainly this piece is from the famous nearby Miguel Vacas Mine and not the old and extinct Mostardeira Mine at Estremoz, from where libethenite specimens of this richness and quality are very rare. The small Mostardeira Mine operated from only 1862 into the 1880s (MINDAT). Choice, classic and very rich material from the Schneider Collection. Mass is only 83 grams on this excellent piece.
