Item Description

An outstanding and aesthetic intergrown thumbnail pair of libethenite crystals from the 1975 find at this large underground and open pit Cu-Co mine. The 1975 find produced the world's finest examples of this uncommon Cu-phosphate, with several different crystal habits found. This cutie has two different crystal habits - the vertical crystal is an octahedron and the striking horizontal crystal has a saddle-shape. The large saddle-shape crystal is rare and uncommon in size at 1.6 cm. Both crystals are mostly black with green highlights and are enhanced with stepped-growth faces.
