Item Description

This large leucite crystal is the size of a golf ball, and is complete all around, and comes from...ARKANSAS! It looks like a really textbook-shape altered garnet, at first glance. But, it is instead the largest leucite I have seen from the USA. I am told that these were found in Magnet Cove, but only rarely and prior to the 1950s. It is a very important, but seldom seen, American specimen Ex. Ted Johnson collection. (note that it is glued very solidly to this circular plastic display base). We have simply never seen anything beyond 1 cm crystals from here for sale, and I have no idea what this might be worth - only, that it is simply awesome for a weird species you never expect to see from the USA !
