Item Description
A classic specimen of Leucite from the famous locality at Ariccia in Rome! Sitting on top of volcanic matrix, this 2.7 cm, trapezohedral Leucite crystal is nicely formed, and well-represents this locality. The piece comes with an old Hugh Ford label, which dates its purchase to somewhere around 1950. The specimen itself was likely collected decades earlier. A great, old-time piece of hard-to-find, and desirable, material. From the noted historic classics collection of Richard 'Dick' Hauck of New Jersey. Superb example from the area of Rome today
