When it comes to Mica species, most of the time we don't see a lot of collector quality display specimens, and Mica is typically seen as an associated mineral, not the star of the show. This is a piece of rare bi-colored "Lepidolite", but it must be noted that Lepidolite is no longer a valid mineral species, but rather according to mindat.org, it is a "Li-rich mica in, or close to, the so-called Polylithionite-Trilithionite series." Regardless, this piece is a beautiful slice/cleavage of this gorgeous dual-colored Mica with a purple "lepidolite" rind and a golden core of what is more than likely muscovite. There is actually a tiny bit of Muscovite on the far exterior as well for a nice touch. Very attractive with beautiful form and coloration
