Lepidocrocite with Goethite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic old time specimen featuring a pair of iron oxides, Lepidocrocite and Goethite. I'm not 100% certain as to whether or not the botyroidal groups are Goethite or Lepidocrocite, as I've found conflicting information online. With that said, if anybody out there is familiar with this material, please let us know which mineral is which. With that said, this is hard to find material from this historic iron producing part of Cornwall, and would make a nice addition to any Cornish suite of minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12664). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
