Item Description
For all of you rarities collectors out there, this one's for you. This is a fine and unusual gemstone consisting of two seperate minerals. Ordinarily this would only be a simple colorless Quartz "Oval Cabochon" cut gem were it not for the bright red, fibrous inclusions of Lepidocrocite inside of it! Lepidocrocite is iron oxide that forms in slender, acicular or "needle-like", bright red crystals (typically as inclusions inside of quartz). This material is sometimes referred to as "strawberry quartz". The distinguishing factor for these stones that separates the good from the great is the color of the inclusions. Typically the Lepidocrocite is a brownish-red color and not a bright RED like the inclusions in this stone. If you're in the market for something unique and different, you won't be dissapointed with this one! Retail value on this stone is $45 per carat.
