A FABULOUS cockscomb spray of gemmy, lemon-yellow legrandite crystals wraps around a bar of gossan matrix on this SUPERB Mina Ojuela thumbnail from the Ed Ruggiero Collection. The quality of these gem legrandite crystals has to be seen to be believed. This was a very rare style for the species, from one famous pocket in the early 1970s. I have seen but a few for sale in decades of looking. Most, as with this one, were thumbnails showing these yellow radial sprays, like legrandite hedgehogs. Ed purchased this super thumb from Pala Properties in October, 1975 and it remains today a superlative, competition-level, legrandite thumbnail. Valued $1500-2000
