Legrandite is one of the great combinations of rarity and beauty in the mineral world. It's one of those minerals that is almost exclusively connected to a single locality, in this case, the famed Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This rare and highly sought after zinc arsenate species is certainly among the most desirable treasures in the mineral collecting world. This small cabinet specimen features a few robust groups of intense glowing yellow color, Legrandite crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm, sitting on typical Limonite matrix. Unfortunately most the terminations of the crystal groups are broken, but you can see some small crystal faces up close, and the prism faces of the crystals are in good shape, so it's still showy and presentable. It's a rich and eye-catching specimen, in spite of the damage, so if you've ever wanted a representative piece with good sized crystals that won't break the bank, this is a nice opportunity to pick up something that is seldom seen on the market, and I don't have to tell you that fine specimens sell for huge money these days.
