Legrandite (large crystals on matrix)

A dramatic 2.9 cm long spray of beautiful, gemmy, yellow legrandite crystals jauntily perched on a well-trimmed matrix. This very fine piece is from the famous finds of the early 1980s. Specimens with so much material on matrix are seldom seen today!!! Such pieces are among the holy grails of mineral collecting, and seldom turn up. For a small cabinet, and with a large spray, this is an excellent specimen, with very gemmy crystals. Valued at $1250-1500.
